I wasn't sure where to put this but....I have 2 of these in my 55g and am getting another one to put at the other end. One of them seems to be fine but the one in the middle, I am not so sure about. I have been sitting here watching it for the last hour or so and it seems to fluctuate the humidity reading a lot. At one point it was at 81, about 5 minutes later it was down to 65, jumped back to 72, back up to 80 and now is back down to 71. The tank has not been opened or messed with in any way during this. Is this normal or is something wrong with the gage? The temp part hasn't changed much at all, normal change from day lights on to night lights. Thanks.

I would do the salt test and see if it reads 75 or jumps around. It might be broken.

I have this one! Make sure you are not messing with the min/max buttons... those can give you readings from days ago. Also, try gently whacking it against a table, sometimes EE/sand gets in there and causes it to malfunction.

Nobody has touched it and its up on the glass so there is no way there is EE in it. It fluctuates on it's own. I am going to do the salt test and see what happens.

I myself have given up on these digitals! I have a few of them as well, try this... put them all side by side, I did this and they all read something different. I think over time, that the humidity and dampness in the tank messes the whole thing up and it goes haywire.

I bought the same one a few months ago or more I don't know. But it does jump around with humidity, not temp. I don't know. I have a mesh lid right now. So I may look into getting a repti fogger to help.
