Anyone keep ant colonies? They seen really cool, I'd love to have one.

I used to but they always seemed to die for some reason. I don't keep them anymore, but they were pretty cool while I had them.

I kept some sugar ants a while back for a school project. I am no expert, but I did learn a lot from that project. The thing about ants is that you need a fertilized queen to keep replenishing the colony or it will simply die slowly (like mine did). They are definitely fascinating! I loved watching a bunch of them huddle around a single water droplet to drink, or their slow progress digging a tunnel in the farm I had. I'm sure someone will come along with more experience than me. :)
Two amazing PPs: Jarvis, who has been with me since 7/14/18, and NewCrab (still unnamed) since 1/11/21!
And a tortoiseshell kitty: Delia

I'm still pretty new to this and I'm trying to learn all I can!

Never mind about not keeping ants anymore! I got more! If you want to learn about ant keeping I'd really recommend AntsCanada on youtube.
