Hello Reptile Friends!
I have a few baby spider plants poking off of my main plant. I checked the Tortoise Table app and it says they are safe for tortoises to eat. I don't have much in her inside enclosure because she destroys everything lol, but I was thinking of planting a baby spider plant in there. Would using EE in a small pot dug down just under the cypress mulch substrate work? Or should I collect a little soil from my yard, bake it, and use that (I don't use any chemicals or sprays anywhere in my yard). Thanks!
Edit: Oops, I probably should have posted this under Other Pets, sorry!

I would probably use a pot under the mulch, because even if you don't use chemicals in your yard, there might be bugs in the dirt and if you have dogs that go in the yard, there might be pee on the dirt lol
. I guess if you baked it it would probably be okay, but I'd still recommend the pot.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up using one of those tiny throw plastic containers you get sauces/dips in. I used worm castings and EE. I popped it down in the substrate. My tortoise decided to chop all the spider leavesoff the plant and then left them there lol.hermitcrablover2 wrote:I would probably use a pot under the mulch, because even if you don't use chemicals in your yard, there might be bugs in the dirt and if you have dogs that go in the yard, there might be pee on the dirt lol.
