Marine Hermie Pics

It's funny, coming from a reefing standpoint, hermits are just considered CUC(cleanup crew). They're just used to eat algae, excess food, detritus. Often, they are even pests. Not every reefer pays much attention to them, but I think they're pretty cool do I thought I'd share mine!

Here's my oldest and biggest guy, blue leg hermit:

Clibanarius tricolor

I have another smaller one, but couldn't get a pic right now. I've had them both for a year, and through many molts. They eat algae, and bits of whatever food I drop in. It's fun to see them dash about during feeding time. Then I have a scarlet hermit, whom ive had for a few months. This guy is quite lazy. He'll only move a few inches a day, and seems content chewing on algae alone:

Then there's what I believe is a Cortez hermit crab, though I haven't gotten a good look at him:

Clibanarius digueti

I also have a hitchhiker that showed up with a batch if snails. He's micro sized and white in color. Couldn't get a pic or species ID, gotta find him first.

And that's my MHC clan! I'm thinking of getting a couple more species soon. Comments welcome :)

Those are some really incredible pictures; what kind of coral do you keep in your reef tank?

Thanks! Not many corals right now. Just frogspawn, hammer, birdsnests, acans and assorted zoas.

I just caught my biggest guy killing a snail :P guess he was hungry.
