I LOVE them! My dream is to meet one someday and give him a gold (fake) watch. Apparently they are called robber crabs because they like to steal shiny things and bury them. How can anyone not find that cute?

their cute! they are to hermit crabs what tigers are to house cats. I think its mean/sick that these people eat them it makes me sad.
Their just really big hermit crabs.

I know that someone that lived around them did keep one as a pet in his fenced off yard for a while. But that only worked because it was the crabs natural habitat I imagine. I had no idea there were any enclosures with these guys. The US is the last place I'd expect to find them.
