How long does it take you to make these popsicle houses? I feel like it would take me like a week!! He is adorable BTW! All of them are. I would totally do the mice thing, but the tails creep me out a little. That's why I had hamsters when I was a kid. But I can not deny that these mice have the cutest ears and faces ever!

I don't know. I've never really paid attention to how long it takes. I use hot glue so I feel like it moves pretty quickly. The mice love them! Really they're not picky at all and love anything they can climb on, hide in, chew on, nest with. You should see how excited they get over just shredded paper.

Daryl was a special guy. :D Thank you.

Oh, no! Is it simply her age at this point?

Yes, I do believe her age has caught up with her. Yesterday she was just a bit "off", today she's worse. At this point I don't think there's anything the vet could do, other than stress her out unnecessarily. I'm watching closely though, just in case it looks like she may need some help moving on. I feel helpless. With Daryl I held him until the end but Cheeseburger has made it clear that she doesn't find any comfort in my hands. Thankfully Celyn checks in on her too, snuggling and grooming, which she does seem to enjoy.

It is harder than I thought it would be when I first got them. With so many losses in just a few months.....I understand now why so many end up taking a bit of a mouse break now and then. Because now I'm wondering how it'll be in another 1.5-2 years with this second batch of girls all pretty close in age. Well. I guess I know, I just don't want to think about it now.

But on to happier thoughts.

Celyn and Rina are awesome. They're so full of energy, yet so so sweet. They're still super friendly, of course. Happy to see me, happy to climb on me, happy for good treats and toys. Rina is more outgoing, Celyn being a bit more shy and careful. They love love love some cheerios.

Seren is coming along nicely. She comes out when she hears me and comes right over to me. She doesn't climb onto my hand much yet, I just get a paw or two, but if I scoop her up she's pretty calm for me now. She loves loves loves shredded paper.

Hazel. Oh, Hazel. It's been a little over a week and she is still so so so so jumpy. I mean that literally. She's like a bouncy ball and still quite nervous around me. But she's getting better. She doesn't "scream" and jump and dive for cover when she sees me. Not every time anyway. She has sniffed my hand a few times. She loves loves loves the mesh wheel. These pics are screen shots of a video. Best I could do.

She runs and loop-the-loops and runs some more. It's pretty entertaining to watch and was exactly why I bought this type of wheel, when I saw some pet shop mice using it in the same way. My other mice would run on it a little but never really liked it much, so I'm happy to see it thoroughly enjoyed now.

They are so stinking cute!! :hearts:

Please watch carefully with those wheels. Their paws are so tiny it probably won't be much of an issue for them, but my dwarf hamster shattered a back foot by getting it caught in the mesh. We switched to a solid spinner after that.

Thank you. I definitely keep a close eye on them, with any of their wheels. I have a silent spinner and two flying saucers as well. The girls like to run together and solid wheels risk flinging or tumbled mice. There's definitely a risk with any wheel ... probably anything you put in their reach.

What's funny is, in the hamster community you'd pretty much get yelled at for using a mesh wheel. In the mouse world, many actually recommend them.

I'm sorry Cheeseburger isn't doing well :( It's so hard to watch them go downhill - my rats are over 2 years old now and starting to really show their age. It's rough.

All your new girls are so adorable. I think Seren is my favorite - she just looks so scruffy and snuggly.
