Akiko

Post by CallaLily » Sat Jun 20, 2015 12:42 pm

I never thought I'd be making a post like this but we got another cat. Well, a kitten. Her mother was part of a large colony of feral cats at a farm where my MIL sometimes keeps a few of her horses. They were catching them to get them fixed and mom got caught and hauled off before they realized there were kittens. Because of this, at just 4 weeks Akiko was without her mama. :( So she came to us much younger then kittens should be adopted out. She's around 7-8 weeks now and doing really well. I forgot how much fun kittens are! My other kitties weren't too pleased but they're adjusting.

I didn't even notice. It does look like a sort of lopsided heart. :D

I saw the tittle and I'm like "Akiko? She doesn't have an.. what did they bring home now?!"

Only the most cute kitten ever! :hearts: Congrats. She is so adorable, and that heart is perfect! She was so young when you got her, did you have to bottle feed her at all?

When we brought her home they had her fully on canned food with formula mixed in, so we just continued with that. I think she was at or around 5 weeks when she came home. At first she wasn't cleaning herself very well and I had to help. She's gotten much better about it.

Edit to add: now she's completely on just canned food.

Her tail is so unique! I don't think I've ever seen that banding before.

A couple of Akiko tonight.

This one is just before the bum wiggle she does before she pounces.

She's a mess. She and my other cat, Chico, seem to have bonded a bit. They play together and sleep near each other. I think it really does Chico good, he seemed very bored before even with lots of attention from us. Our other kitty, Spiderman, is snooty.

The butt wiggle is the best! All 3 of mine do it as they prepare to pounce on each other and it's so freaking cute
