Egg Binding in Geckos

I don't know any reptile forums and trust everyone's opinion here already so figured I'd ask. I'm getting a leopard gecko this Friday and have a choice between male or female. They're both handled regularly and look healthy (will add pictures in a minute) but I'm having trouble deciding. They're a snow morph, but the female has more yellows, which I like but a reptile friend on Tumblr mentioned the worries of egg binding, which I know little about. What I've read says as long as they're healthy and in good conditions it's very unlikely to happen. Problem being, it states they need somewhere to dig to lay the eggs and I refuse to use anything other than repticarpet as I lost a gecko to impaction in my less informed youth...
Does anyone have any advice?

I use chunky orchid bark for my girl. Too big to swallow but still light enough for her to dig in. If you're worried though - go with the male. :)

Yeah, I have decided on the male. Hehe Now I'm trying to decide on what brand of UTH until I feel like spending $50 to ship the smallest one from Bean Farm...lol
