I'm upgrading my gecko to a 20G next week. Now, I know once I peel the heat mat off the 10G the adhesive will be shot, but I only juse bought ithe new when I got him about a month ago. I don't know about putting the clear duck tape directly on the mat, but would it be safe placing a square of coroplast over it and then taping it? It'll still have airflow under the tank as I have those little rubber feet things.

I used package tape to hold the zoomeds I got with adoptions. Neither had any sticky stuff left on them.

It's really no different than using one on a crab tank. :) They get up to about 130 degrees max, so duct or packing tape can handle that.
