New Pet Ideas?
New Pet Ideas?
I looking into getting a new pet. Something not too expensive or high maintenance. I was thinking land snails or millipedes. I have experience with both. Also, I want something rather small and doesn't need a huge tank.
I currently have a 55 gal crabitat, a 20 gal crabitat, and a 10 gal fish tank with a betta and four snails ... well and of course 2 dogs hahah
So any suggestions for my new pet or any cool one you guys have?

New Pet Ideas?
What about aquatic frogs. I have 2 and they are pretty easy to care for and they never come out of the water. Getting insects like millipedes sounds like a good idea. Just make sure you are ready for another pet I know that it can be hard to care for a lot of pets even if they dont have difficult needscrabs_lex wrote:
i would love cute little frogs but thats not a possibility because other members in my household would not allow it because they are DEATHLY afraid lol!

I’ve cared for inverts in laboratory settings. Isopods, cockroaches, or millipedes don’t need super large enclosures or a ton of skill to maintain.

Do you know the best way to get millipedes? Like I said I had them in fourth grade years ago, but they were supplied by the school because we used them for a project or something in science class.JoeHermits wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 1:26 pmI’ve cared for inverts in laboratory settings. Also I know there are different kinds I guess or at least different colors. Are they all safe to handle? I know I used to let mine crawl all over me and they were just plain brown ones.

If your local pet stores don’t supply them you’ll have to go online. There aren’t any poisonous ones in the pet trade as far as I know.

A little late but I just remembered that sometimes pet stores may be able to bring in certain animals for you if not in stock. It may be worth asking if you’re in there.

Re: Moving UTH
My vote is for land snails. I don't think I've ever seen one before. I've always had a ton of leopard slugs at my house, but never snails.

I think its down to land snails or millipedes!(like I originally thought lol) I know where I can get snails for sure but not millipedes. But I will be doing more research and let you all know what I get. I will not be getting them yet though. Maybe in a month or soCrabbyLover77 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 5:07 pmMy vote is for land snails. I don't think I've ever seen one before.
