Question: what if I’m allergic to cats?curlysister wrote:YES!! Get kitties! Lots of them!
Sphynx cats aren't technically hypoallergenic (they still produce dander and leave behind dead skin cells), but they are hairless!! My Mom's friend has one of these kitties.JoeHermits wrote: Question: what if I’m allergic to cats?

When I had my kitty, I would scoop her litter box 1-2/day and sprinkle it with baking soda. The baking soda would help neutralize the smell (and boy was her poo and pee smelly!). I also kept a bag/liner in her box, so when the litter was no longer scoopable, I would just tie up the bag and throw it out. Then the litter box itself was still clean and fresh. I had the Litter Genie to throw the waste in too. That helped keep the smelly odors contained.Jlmills525 wrote:I used to have kitties can't get more until i can figure out how to make the litter smell proof
I have four cats, with five litter boxes. Only one is covered. Clumping litter in three, and Yesterday's News in two. I use Litter Lockers (like diaper genies), and scoop the boxes twice a day. I sprinkle Arm and Hammer litter deodorizer, just a little over the top of the litter, after one of the times I scoop.Jlmills525 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 8:50 pmI used to have kitties can't get more until i can figure out how to make the litter smell proof
Well, other than getting a dog, there are a few options.JoeHermits wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 7:12 pmQuestion: what if I’m allergic to cats?
