Thought I'd share this molt I was able to retrieve from my tank. Shadow from flash catching the camera lens.

This particular Scarlet I've had for about 2yrs. One of the first MHC I picked up when setting up my 75.

Looking at the LHC sizing chart I'd say its still in the micro range for size wise. It has grown but not drastically.

When choosing MHC I guess you could try to find some that you'll be able to provide shells larger than its current one. If the ones at your LFS are super micro then try to find some empty shells in the tank their in and ask for those as a freebie or part of your MHC purchase.

great job in keeping your scarlet for so long! mine seem to max out in size and then die peacfully, the more they molt the more out of proportion their walking legs (too long) get with regards to their pinchers. That has happened to both my initial scarlets, Antigone and Ismene, and i haven't seen the same pattern in any other marine hermit species (i've got over 10 different ones)
