Patriot Crab help

Post by Husker » Mon Nov 05, 2012 2:14 pm

Does anyone have any experience with patriot crabs? My husband brought home one from the pet store and currently has it in his 55 gallon freshwater tank. I've done a little searching online and from what I can tell they need land. Any advice will be helpful.

I don't have a pic yet but it has orangish legs and a purple-blue body.

What about one of those floating turtle docks? I used it with my sliders and it was great. I know petco and petsmart have them.

Yes, they are land crabs and should have a land set-up similar to our hermits: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forum ... atum)-Info

It may drown if kept in the aquarium for too long, so getting it out of the water is important for right now! They get big (up to 8 inches), and they need to be kept by themselves, so it will need a big tank.
