What kind of container is that in the corner? And what kind of wood?

In the corner is a small plastic fish tank. I've got it covered with plants to feel like a hidey hole. I use it for an upstairs salt water pool it's got coco fiber in the mouth of it for easy access. The big slab beside Sheldon is actually a rock. It's hard to tell from the pic but it's sparkly. The dark area is all crystallized. I'm obcessed with rocks too. Hahah all the hermits pools have rocks in them to help them climb out.

It kinda looks like fossilized wood with some druzy areas (hehehe ditto on the rock obsession). Really cool idea with the fish bowl!

Thanks! Dang now I may have to take it to a rock show to get it identified. That be awesome if it were petrified wood. It was my grandmother's. And thanks! I'd seen something different on pinterest but the small tank was only 3 bucks at pets mart.

How do you make a salt water pool on another level?

You said you used it for an upstairs water pool, what do you mean by this and how did you do it?

Here's my second level for now.... I know the interior is difficult to make out but the upstairs is mainly a small plastic fish tank that I've covered with a plastic plant as well as a live bamboo plant hopefully for climbing. In the tank I keep adittional fresh h2o. I know the sub isn't too deep but it's also not very wide. The bottom tank is a 20 or 25 and the top is a 10. I love the look and I love that it provides extra play place. My reservations though... the tank is duck taped down to its base. All the extra openings created by the off kilter setup is covered by plexiglass also duct taped down. The top tank I turned upside down so it's now really difficult to get back in there to rearrange and refill the water. Most of my crabs are down now but my first up Sheldon the shy loves it. The Chola branch wired to a chicken wire platform covered in coconut fiber is their access to the upper level.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Here's a little bit of a better pic of the top access point and the inner water tank. You could also just use another hermie pool but I wanted something they could get on top of if they wanted. I need to put more substrate on top of it.
