I have 2 of those shells- purchased them before I knew of the shell guide. My hermits have never looked at them. I have straws also. Hermit crabs are individual creatures- the shell guide just states they are not preferred shells. I purchased mine at beach shops, but you can get them online as well.HeyItsEggs wrote:Gorgeous! Those shells aren't common due to their weight. However for some crabs they do fancy them. You just have to take loads of pics when they do as it's not s common occurrence so enjoy it while you can.

I loved my African turbo shells but the polishing made them so thin that they broke easily

Beautiful. I think these shells originate in Africa, if I am not mistaken, so it would make sense a strawberry might pick it.
