Moved - 125g tank with new filtered pools!
Hey everyone!
As promised, I’m sharing quite a few photos from my recent move in South Florida. This tank was a beast and a half to move, and I’m so glad we’re done!
I don’t normally replace my sand or substrate, but honestly, out of ease and laziness, I did. I had 2 back surgeries last year so anything to make it a littler easier - I’m doing!
Anyways, I also upgraded my 2.5 gallon pools to 5 gallon pools (holy crap, they’re huge!). Since they were going to be so big, I added a submersible filter to lower the amount of hands-on maintenance . Should out to Chewy to getting these to me quickly and cheaply! (Not sponsored, but I do work for them )
I should add, I do have shells for the crabs. I forgot to let them out of the water they were cooling in after boiling and they’re drying. I’ll add those in later tonight.
Thanks for reading!
Jeff

This is amazing! I would looove to have a tank that big! I’m sure your crabbies will love it too! What is the green vine-looking stuff that your one guy is hanging upside down from?

It looks cool, I’ll look it up! Reminds me of puffy paint, lol...if you know what that is! Thanks for the reply!JeffCrab wrote: This was a reptile vine that I actually found on Amazon! it was like $10 and they love it!

It looks amazing! What are you using to heat that? I'm thinking about upgrading to that size but worry about being able to heat it properly.

I have two reptile under tank heaters that are stuck to the back of the tank. These are also automated to heat the tank to 82 degrees. It creates a warmer side and a cooler side. The warm side usually sits at 82-83 and the cooler side is around 75. I find the crabs to be so much more active when it's between 80-83 in their tank.blackberry75 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:43 amIt looks amazing! What are you using to heat that? I'm also lucky and live in South Florida, so heating is usually the least of my worries here. Haha!

Ok, thanks. I didn't realize you could get the uth so large.
I've got my current uth set up on a controller as well. It's great at stabilizing temps.
