Just got a new baby!

Just adopted a baby (boy I think?) from the pet-store! He/she is so cute and he's the smallest crab i've ever had, my bigger crab has shown a little aggression but I'm assuming he's just establishing the pecking order, the tank is a 10 gallon and I have three in total in there but I'm getting a bigger tank on Friday so Im super excited!

I also adopted a newbie today, my second newbie in the past two days!

Yesterdays newbie, Tiger aka Ti is a male, and he is missing most of the top of his big pincher, and his second leg on the large pincher side, so he is currently isolated in the main tank, and eating well, I hope he molts soon and pulls through this!

Today's newbie, which is yet to be named, is a female and she has a really pretty purple color! I got her in a yucky purple painted shell (the color of the paint was nice, not the paint itself tho). My work got new crabs in today, and I got her because she was one of the biggest (tied with another crab) and she has a super pretty purple color! She had a few legs with broken ends, but no biggie! She changed into a gorgeous green tubro shell, that I believe has a 1.25" opening! She's very social, and having fun exploring her new home!

How big is your new tank going to be! I'm so excited for you!!!

Ahhh so cute! You should send photos of them!! My new tank is probably going to be around a 15-20 gallon (5 gallons per crab as recommended) but if I can find a bigger one I might get that!

tbh, even though it's kind of cheap LOOKING i might get a big rubber-maid container for them (i've seen crab owners do this before, crabbing on a budget, correct me if i'm wrong on that)

but if I can't find any good ones at Walmart tomorrow, I'm getting a 15 gallon tank (glass) from my friend on Friday

I would recommend a 29 gallon if you can find it, and have space for it, the 9 gallons really makes a difference!

Fr me tho, I got a 10 gallon when I had two, added a third because I was upgrading. Then, after I upgraded I got sad because I think/thought Frog got out, and fell in love with Star at my work, because she was so teeny, and Bug needed a Teeny friend, so I got her! That was for real last week! Then, yesterday I was at work and say Ti, injured and got him, brought him home, and set up his iso in the main tank. Then, today I got to work, we got new crabs, bigger ones then we usually do, and so I found NN and fell in love with her size and color! I went from 3 to 6 in the last week, my population doubled! And I love all of my crabby children so much!

Ikr! She's such a pretty color purple! Fell in love with her instantly! The tips of her "toes" are light, so I think she might molt soon! I saw her eating a lot earlier and bathing herself, maybe she is loading up for a molt!

Just checked my records, NN's current shell opening is 1 inch! She looks so much bigger out of her shell then that tho, like she can go far into it, but when she is out she is OUT! I guess that's how she likes her shells, lots of booty room, so she can squish as far back as possible! My sister got to see her change shells, it was her first time seeing it, she was grossed out, excited, fascinated, and more! She also held a crab for the first time today, and it was NN, I think she has a special bond with NN now!
