This is Gimpy. He is super teeny tiny (as you can see he's sitting in a large shell.) When I bought him he had only 2 back walking legs and couldn't walk by himself. I thought he was a goner but I wanted to give him some comfort before he went. I put him in an iso with tiny dishes and a pile of moss to hide under. I had to place him in the food dish so could eat the food I powdered for him.
Eventually he hid under the moss (it took him two hours to crawl there) and I left him alone, figuring that's where he would die.
Three weeks later he came out - molted and with all his legs! But he will forever be Gimpy.
that is on of the most beautiful colored crabs that I have ever seen . He is so cute!! Glad to hear his story!
Yeah he went down ghostly pale and came up bright pinkie orange! 
gives me hope for my little buddy, Cheez-It. She is tiny like Gimpy and only has two legs on one side plus her claws (also bought that way). She has a hard time getting around too but she can walk slowly so I don't have to baby her as much and she can climb. She also has little gel limbs growing 
I know and I after, it's very amazing! I didn't know Cheez-It had missing legs until after I bought her an she had come out of her shell. She is soo feisty and not shy at all. I'm glad you got Gimpy to give him a better life
