Tank and Crabs

Post by frog » Mon Jan 12, 2015 2:20 pm

I'm really happy with how the tank turned out.
It's a 29 gallon. I bought three bricks of ee and now the substrate is 7.5 - 8.5 inches deep. (:
I also got them cuttlebones. One is lime flavored, but the other one is chilli and I don't know if they would like that..

The set-up looks so lush with all the flowers and plants! Very nice job  . I'm in the process of upgrading to a 29g (corner guards installed, Ultratherm on the back, hinged glass lid arrived and there's some sand/cocofiber in so I can start playing around with the layout) -- hope my finished product looks as good as yours!

Tank looks great! Is that a metal wire wall on the back or is it plastic? If it's metal you will want to take it out and replace it with something crab friendly, as the little guys are sensitive to metals.

Very lovely. One thing I'm lacking on my tank rebuild is plants. Your tank is inspiring me. :)

It looks like fish net to me.

Thanks everyone! :D
They aren't live plants.

It's metal chicken wire or something. I wasn't aware that metal was harmful to hermit crabs.
I'm going to take it out right now. :)

I'll have to find them some fishnet soon. :P

And the cat is a Lil Bub sticker.

They aren't that sensitive to metals, just certain ones. :)
