New addidions!
New addidions!
I visited a reptile expo last weekend (presumably the last one in my country..) I planned on getting new Crabs, which I did. There were more good hermit crab sellers than usual, which I think was great! I couldn't miss out on such an opportunity, because terrestrial hermit crabs are usually hard to get here in Austria.
Initially, I planned on getting straws.
But then I saw C. brevimanus. I never saw indos in person before, and I have to say, I was/am amazed. They look so different to other Coenobita species.
After talking a bit to the vendor (who also had other species, including straws for sale), I decided to take 3 of the little guys home.
I thought, I'd share some pictures.
Here they are:
One "pinkish" one:
The two purple ones:
They are quite a bit larger than my ruggies, but they don't bother them at all. One rugosus even rode one of the indos.
What I noticed is, they drag the food everywhere and even bury it, while the ruggies leave the food where I place it and just eat it there.

Thanks
hopefully they will keep their beautiful colors!
I love them already, they are so big but so gentle, they even let the ruggies eat next to them. But maybe that´s because they are still new and need to acclimatize in their new environment.
