That's it, you and Mrs. Motör (or are you Mr. Xeno lol) are coming to my house and decorating my 55 gal when I get it setup! Your tank looks like so much fun that I want to play in there with the crabs lol. You live in PA too so I know we can make this work.Motörcrab wrote:Here's some pictures of our crabs out and about in the 65.

Actually I think it may just be Mr. & Mrs. Crab! Although they are two names we would never name any of our guys. We always joked around at doing custom tanks for people. Similar to the shows where people redecorate houses or Tanked. We live in central PA near Knoebels so I'm sure we could figure out something.CrabbyLover77 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 10:38 pmThat's it, you and Mrs. Motör (or are you Mr. Xeno lol) are coming to my house and decorating my 55 gal when I get it setup! It's a crystal ashtray! We pick up cheap ashtrays and what ever appears can be used for crab foods. We found its easier to have a bunch of dishes in reserve so you can change foods and to worry about cleaning the dishes first.
So are tension rods a necessity? 10 or so inches of substrate wouldn't hold the eggcrate in?Motörcrab wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 9:29 pmWe just put a few in tonight. We had to wait for everything to adjust.
We haven't had an issue with the tension rods becoming loose. You could possibly add a strip of silicone to the rod and allow it to dry too.
It's just the LED lamps that came with the tank.

Aahhh. Ok. Thank you.Motörcrab wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 9:13 amOnce you add the weight of the wheels and shelves the top of the egg crate leans out from the glass. With a determined crab they will eventually find that opening and climb between the egg crate and rear glass. It is probably possible with out the tension rods but we play it safe. The tension rods also give more climbing area and places to attach things.

Thanks! I did all the egg crate and crab mesh stuff. Xenocrab made the ropes, decorated the hanging pot, and flower pots. The crabs have been all over the tank! The tension rods are great wrapped. Our crabs, even the babies climb on them. The give so many options for adding things to the tank too!ciaraalston wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 12:59 pmWOW!!! Your tank is INCREDIBLE!!!! I love the rods across the top and the hammocks!!! I bet the crabs are going to love it!!!!!! Thanks for the pics! If you dont mind I may try to recreate those rods in my 80? Mine love being high up, and I love that look!
A TV show would be fun! Similar to Bar Rescue too! Go in an yell at everyone on how terrible their tank conditions are then threaten to walk out and not do their tank! Then reconsider and do the new tank! I highly doubt that would ever happen. It would be huge to promote awareness and general care.CrabbyLover77 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 3:08 pmLol at Mr. & Mrs. Crab! That would be so cool to do custom tank decorating. I use to watch Tanked all the time before it was canceled. I also use to watch Scaled (guys that did custom reptile tanks in Canada). I think they only had one season. I bet you guys could make a ton of money!
