I had one of my new crabs change shells within 30 minutes of buying her and putting her in her critter keeper with 1 extra shell (I was so clueless when we got her). It was such a cool experience to watch that up close. I had never seen anything like it! Then, when I added another crabby that was also in a painted shell (from pet store, terrible conditions and wanted to get him outta there), he didn’t change shells for 3 months. Drove me crazy, lol. Such interesting little creatures!
