I've heard from other crabbers that there are some in VA but I haven't looked myself. :)

Huh, maybe when I move up to Savannah I can drive up and adopt some! I actually might need a foster in Savannah/Georgia for a few years while I'm in a dorm for my crabs (assuming I can't sneak them in Image)

Haha I have the same prob- I'm going off to college but I think I can entrust my mom with the care of all of my pets (as well assuming I can't sneak them in)

lol you're so lucky, my mom despises the crabs, she calls them "disgusting krabby patties" Image My art teacher who I'm super close with says she'd love to take care of them but she has no idea how to tbh so I'm kind of at a loss Image where are you going to school?

Yes, he has some green. I've never seen a crab with so many different colors. He has tan, green, brown, orange, white and a hint of purples. All the E pics here are mostly tan. In fact, his specie buddy is tan but he is a lot smaller than the one pictured. I'm new to keeping Es. All I've owned so far are PPs and Straws. So this was totally different for me. :)

Edit- guess his name is going to be rainbow because of all his colors.

Okay guys, I have some bad news. One of my Es didn't make it. It's not the one previously pictured (Rainbow). It was the one who was all tan and healthier looking compared to Rainbow (sorry guys never did get a pic of him)... I'm kind of in shock. This is the third crab I've lost since I began little over 6 years ago. (First two were close to the beginning.) I don't know what happened. He just became sluggish and eventually passed on the 28th. I waited til today just to be sure. Again, this was one of the 11 that I adopted on the 19th. In a way I believe it was stress from the lady driving 3 hrs to get to me in not so great conditions...

What am I supposed to do?? The other has no buddy and I can't find any Es locally. I've heard they are some in nearby states, but I don't wanna buy. I would rather adopt.

Sorry for your loss! That is a bummer. You could drive him here to Florida and put him in my tank with my two e's ;)
Edit: I'm sorry, I totally forgot about your pictures! You tank is so spacious! It's looking good!! :) Are you going to put a wheel in this one too?
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely keep that in mind. He went down as soon as I transferred him to this tank (over the weekend). So I guess he's molting now. Only time will tell... As much as I hate buying, I may have to drive up north to find him a buddy if I can't find any to adopt.

Yes I put a wheel in this one as well. It's in the center along the back. It's behind the big cholla wood in the pics but you can barely see it. They haven't used it yet. There's no 'sub' tracks in it and the overlay canvas is still at the bottom.

Edit: look in last pic by the cave. You can barely see the wheel.

Oh no:( So sorry for your loss, Daws409. Sorry I can't help with a species buddy - ours are all PP's. Hope you are able to find a friend for him soon. Love your tat set up! Very spacious and I like the large cholla and the beautiful leafy greens!

I wanted to comment on the green coloration, Es tend to be green when they're young and as they get older and molt more it fades. However I saw that one passed, I'm so sorry for your loss!!

I didn't know that. Makes sense tho cause PPs are lighter when younger.

Quite the opposite, green and blue colour in E's can be a sign of an improper and imbalanced diet. I can't exactly remember what mineral, protein or vitamin lacks to cause the colour, but I have it somewhere at home. Once found, I'll edit this....
