Thanks for the advice, I didn't realize sexing the crabs was that difficult. I've never had much trouble figuring out the gender, but most of my crabs come WAY out of their shell without much encouragement needed.wodesorel wrote: If you have your heart set on a certain gender, you should double check HOW they are sexing them. Sexing hermits crabs is much harder because it takes so much time and some crabs refuse to cooperate, and many places are still clueless on the real way to go about doing it. They may be using size, or claw shape, or color, or even the shell choice to make the determination on gender, or they may just arbitrarily choose crabs thinking no one will be the wiser. I've heard some crazy ways to tell the gender of crabs - none of which were true - over the years!
I was only able to snap one pic of my new straw this morning because I was running late to work. I haven't figured out a name yet, but he's really friendly and has inquisitive eyes
