A Transformation Of Our Crabitat

Post by tykesanimalkingdom » Sat Nov 29, 2014 3:56 pm

Image
Our first tank. A spongebob themed 10-gallon. (We thought it looked so good :hlol: )

Image
Our first upgrade! A 20-gallon long tank that we got off of Craigslist for 10 bucks. However, this is the only tank that we had a really bad mite infestation in...hmmmm. :?: My boyfriend built the wonderful second level shell shop that all the crabbies adored. :D

Image
And finally, what we just upgraded to this past week :D A 40-gallon breeder! Along with a new ultratherm heater and glass canopy (which hasn't come in yet). The bottom picture is a view of the 40 (it's really hard to fit it all in one picture  ) And the top two are different views of the third level. Haven't decided what to put up there yet. Maybe another shell shop?

Image
A view of the second level (kind of hard to see) that holds the shell shop. And you can see the water pools underneath.

Image
Another closer view of the salt and fresh water pools. The salt water is the one with the air stone but we might put one in the fresh water too.

They have plenty of places to hide and climb. The temperature is about 82 right now and the humidity is always in the 80's.

Thanks for looking! :D

Fabulous! Good thing my crabs can't see the computer screen from their tank or they'd be very jealous  !

By the way, do I see a Boston Bruins jersey sleeve in a few of the pics? My favorite team so I'm chuffed  !!
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch
On the Big Beach in the Sky: Murray, Gino, Oscar, Gordon, Ignatz, Harry and King Felix the Pale
Also Mom to Imogene the Syrian Hamster

That looks awesome! :)
For the third level, I recommend placing the food dish in that spot - easier to grab = less stressed crabs = more activity due to them working for there food - or leaving it blank, my hermies enjoy climbing up to an empty level just to chill on.
