i agree, i've had a handful of bettas throughout the years and the only reason they don't swim around a lot is because they don't have the room to, or they're sick.

a happy, healthy betta with lots of room will swim around the entire tank all day.
plus, it probably really stresses the poor thing out with crabs going in and out of his home all the time.
please get him his own tank, at least 5 gallons.
the rest of your crabitat looks amazing, so why endanger another extremely misunderstood and often abused animal?
please don't take offense to what we're saying, we just care about the well-being of all animals.
