Just wanted to share some photos of the crab clan!
I was so excited to see that someone decided to wear this shell. I never thought I would see the day! Its so refreshing to see something other than a tapestry turbo
This guy is one of my most active. Always causing trouble
Chillin on the flower
Coral still in this crazy shell! I am fairly confident she will be in this until she absolutely HAS to move, but I don't mind because she is one of the few I can actually recognize these days!
The 55g has been super quiet. I think everyone is officially under now. There was one up, but I think she is down as well as of two nights ago. I hear a lot of scratching underground and sometimes they open little windows for me.
It has been pretty cold here in MN, they are saying tonight will be the coldest of the year. The heat in the 55g has been really hard to maintain. I have 3 heating pads on it and a heat bulb, so either my hygrometer is off, of my heat pads are failing (which is more likely). I am going to buy a new heating pad from reptilebasics hopefully this weekend.
Barnaby was the only one up in the 55g and he seemed really unhappy. He sits under the same platform all day long, in his little half hole, by himself. So last night, I decided to move him to the 125g tank. The heat and humidity are higher and there are lots of crabs up including Bella and Bubbles, two of my other straws (Boomer,Burgundy & Blaze are all under). At first I was a little worried because he seemed so confused, and I thought I totally stressed him out and made things worse, but it didn't take long before he was climbing the Cholla, drinking from the pools, climbing up in the moss pit and hanging from the rope vine on top, near the lid. He seems SOOOO much happier now.
Bubbles
Bambi
Hopefully some of my babies come up in the 55g soon. I have some micros in there that are under- repairing lost limbs, so I hope they all come up good and healthy. Barry is also down, he was my first down and has been down about a month.
Bambi my other Straw just went down a week or so ago, so I am assuming I wont be seeing Barry or Bambi until summertime, at least.
Praying everyone is OK under there and comes up happy and healthy! Hopefully this post inspires others to post some updated pics of their crab families! I think it is safe to say, I am not the only one who LOVES seeing what everyone else's crabbies are up too
