The first two look like a purple pincher to me, but I'm not sure about that last one. He's mostly orange and tan looks like ^•^ there's a high chance you have two pp's there. Can you possibly get pi tures a little closer without scaring the guys?

Are the first two pics the same crab? I second the need for closer pictures.

They are both the same pic-it was my first time using Tapatalk and getting any kind of pic on a forum. I am using my HTC phone and I am not really getting good up close pics. I have to learn how to use the zoom better : ) In the second pic the color is really washed out because I used the flash, I guess. I am uploading a pic of Mini today. I also have a cool night time pic I want to upload of Echo and the Bridge. I have done more research and I am thinking they are really Violas because of their antennae, eyes, their behavior and the large claw is more rounded and a lighter purple. But they are healthy and enjoying their crabitat so I am happy with whatever kind of crab they are :)

Did you recently get them? They look super shy and I love that! Makes me feel like we are about to go on a "should I trust this human or not?" adventure!

Ok thanks for the response back to me, and I did more research and I think they are little pp's also : )

I would like to make a (somewhat) educated guess and say that I wouldn't be surprised if your new friends' colors brightened after a molt or two :) Mine did when I got them. Except for Chancho.. He's been stubborn and hasn't gone down yet hahaha

I was trying to regulate the temp and humidity the first 3 weeks of setting up my crabitat and then they went down for a molt but I went and got a UTH and stuck that to the side of the tank where I am pretty sure they are because that was the last place I saw them digging little holes and I think I see one down in the corner. Now my temp has increased and the humidity is good too. I am adding a UVB light today so that will of course change things again, but I should have it all good by the time they come up, right :P

Sounds great! I only have one question though.
Where exactly did you place your UTH? It should be placed above the substrate to keep it from drying out too quickly. Not only that but if they get too warm and want to dig into the nice cool sub, they can :)

I'm sorry I just wanted to make sure. Nobody wants an unhappy pet/friend right? :D

I'm happy to hear that you've done your research though! I wish I would have done that before getting into crab care because I had less than an inch of dry sand that the guy who sold it to me said was fine. He also convinced me that hermit crabs were simple and easy until I found this website through reddit.. :?

I like reddit too my daughter showed me that a few years ago...Yeah I know it it's sad that most pet stores are not going to give you correct information and you really have to get it from your own research...I got my Russian tortoise when she was 2 weeks old and I found the tortoise forum that was also amazingly helpful
