I redesigned the 30 gallon tank today!

Post by Xenocrab » Sun Sep 30, 2018 4:40 pm

I added bigger terra cotta pots, plants, more bark, leaves and moss. I used craft mesh so my crabbies could safely go down in the water and come back up. There are more shells and I took Mike into consideration for when he comes back up!ImageImageImageImageImageImage

It's 12" x 23". I also put insulation on the back in preparation for the colder months coming up. And I scattered fresh produce around the tank for my isopods, but the crabs eat them too

I need to get an Ultratherm. I have a small ZooMed now that doesn’t seem to do much.

The big "cholla" wood is plastic/resin we got from the big pet store in Lancaster. The regular cholla wood is real and organic from Arizona bought from a guy on eBay. I recommend buying from people who live in Arizona that have natural cholla going in their back yard deserts.

The pale/white cholla was purchased at a pet store local, but not one with a good reputation. It grew white mild in days. The natural cholla never grew mold. Be careful where you buy cholla. Real, natural won't grow mold. The cheap pet store knock off cholla, will grow mold

What are those dishes that look like bean pods with separate spaces? Great for a variety of food.

I bought them on Etst. There's a lady that make food dishes for crabbies. They are a little pricy, but my crabs like them. It's also easier for me to see which foods they like and which they don't. All the dishes are handmade and different.

Where did you get the water dishes? I have some with steps but they are a pain and the hermits are going to out grow them.
