New second level

Post by Ronbo0032 » Mon Oct 14, 2019 1:57 pm

Here is the second level that I have been working on. I wanted more room for the moss pit, which will sit just above the platform, also to put shells up there. This will give them more room to hide as well.

I took aussieJJDude’s advice and extended the legs so they go to the bottom and the platform won’t tip over. Now the trick is actually getting it in there. All five crabs are above ground, so wish me luck. I’ll post pics when I’m finished also.

That looks awesome!

I'f you didnt glue the legs on, you could position the legs within the tank, and then pop in the top (and them assemble in the tank?)

I love this! Great inspiration, too. I've been planning something similar but with bamboo poles. I just love the idea of having different levels within the tank.

That looks great! Post more when you have it in the tank please. The craps are gonna love it! I have been trying to figure out what I'm going to do with this 40 gal breeder and I want a 2nd level. I like the PVC pipe idea. I know I want a second level I'm just not sure how I'm going to work it out yet.

A little bigger than I anticipated. Had to make some adjustments, and I did put the “legs” in first than set the base on top. Definitely easier but took some finagling. No one used it yet, hopefully still exploring their new surroundings.
