Post Molt Checks

Post by Motörcrab » Thu Mar 05, 2020 12:03 am

I just gave these two guys quick look overs to be sure everything went well with their most recent molts! Everything looked good! Both of these guys were rescues. Wendigo we got in January 2019 and the purple we got in April 2018.

The purple came up two days ago from a 12 week molt. He wasn't thrilled about being handled and out of the tank for a minute. He was ready to hit the ground running.

Wendigo was a little more reserved and kept ducking in her shell at every move I made. When we got her she had a deformed leg. Last August she successfully released zoea into the saltwater pool!

They look fabulous! It's winter and I don't have to shave my legs!

You don't have to ever shave your legs if you never wear shorts... :anon:

The purple has some of the longest hairs I have ever seen on crab legs! I bet they are close to 1/4" long! :hlol:
