A story about one little hermie

Hi to everyone! Last year i bought this tiny friend. In trust it wasn't purchase, it was saving from the horrible conditions. Crabs lived in a small open tank, with one rock on the middle, and some moss. This guy was the wickest. He didn't have two walking legs from the right side, he used his big claw like a leg. I made an iso tank for him, few days he was very scared, but then he began to eat, even try to walk around. Now he is absolutly healthy and happy hermit crab, he molted 4 times, and now he is ready for the next molting process. He feels comfortable around other brevi hermies.

Awe glad to hear he has been doing well. Also all your biggest crabs are so cute compared to the tiniest crab. Can’t wait till my crabs get that big, did you buy them that big or have you had th for a while?

What a great story! Love the pics!
I'm surprised you got them to line up all at once and take a picture. My crabs would have been crawling all over lol.

I bought the biggest Last year on August. Now, one of the biggest goes for a molting, and the biggest is on the way to molt. Can’t wait the moment after molting, because he has some broken parts of walking legs, hope after molting his whole body will be perfect

I look very forward to the day when mine aren’t skittish of me anymore! A couple of them really haul shell when I approach, lol. Would love to hold them more, but I’ve only had mine for anywhere between 1 and 4 mos and want to give them ample time to de-stress and acclimate before I start handling them. Were you hands on from the beginning or did you wait a while? Would love to know how other crabbers go about it too...?

I have a tank with the side doors, so i just put my hand near the crab, and he climb on it. Or i can open the door, and he tries to go out, i give my hand, and he goes on it. The first crab, who shows how to go for a walk was her. She likes to walk and she's not afraid of hands. Image

Mine would scurry away if I did that, lol. Maybe in time they’ll get more used to me! She’s adorable!

Absolutely! Mine were also not so friendly, but I think that the right conditions helps them to be more open for a human.
