Purchased some new cholla wood for the crabs!

Post by bandaidstealer » Fri Feb 12, 2021 6:23 pm

So, our 3 hermit crabs are currently housed in a 20g tank. It was looking a little empty so I ordered a nice piece of cholla wood online for them and just put it in the tank. It doesn't have much in it because I want them to have room to move. I feel like a 20g just isn't spacious enough. We have had them for about 2 1/2 years now and I have no idea how old they were when my husband rescued them (there was a guy behind the building he worked in who was throwing a critter keeper with the hermit crabs in it in the dumpster).

When our bearded dragon grows some more (he is only 3 months old right now) and he moves into a 75g, the hermit crabs will be moved into the 40g the bearded dragon is currently in. This will give them more space both horizontally and vertically.

No matter what size tank you get, you always want a bigger one! LOL!

The only thing you may want to consider with the new tank, is to put a piece of plexiglass along the front - so you can make the sub deeper than the bottom of the door opening (I hope that makes sense).
