Something unusual you may not know about me is...

I used to predict things more than I do now.On a school ski trip in 4th grade I knew literally seconds before we crashed that we were going to. I was at the back of the bus not looking out any windows, I just saw the roads in my head and something white was ahead. The bus hit a car and it was almost sent off the cliff.Another time, also in the winter a couple years later, the phone rang and in trying to get to the phone my computer chair tipped over, and the thought raced to me, my dad had been in accident. Sure enough, someone had not been careful on the highway and slammed into the back of his car. He was alright though. Now that I'm older more often than not things I predict happening my writing fiction or poems to pass the time, from roller coasters crashing to shoot outs. If I write them in the day, usually there's something on the news that night about it actually happening.

hmm. This is an interesting forum going on.Something unusual...ok...I have this sixth(?) sense that tells me if I can trust someone, whether I have known them a while or I have just met. I have never been wrong. I can tell is someone is telling the truth or blowing smoke. And my poor hubby- every time he tries to hide something- I automatically know. My teen son hates that too. Keeps them on their toes. One more thing, I have a love of jewelry and decided to do something about it and learned by myself with the help of beading catalogs how to make beaded Jewelry. Now I have enough earrings, bracelets and necklaces for everything I wear! And cuddling with a hermit crab has to be unusual for most people but Charger and I have learned to adapt to each other. She will fall asleep on my neck or under the collar of my shirt while I am reading a book or watching TV.

HI My name is Barbie. We have only 5 of our PP's left of 13. We lost some of them. These were/are (boys) Max, Squirtle, Rocky, Mr Pinch, and Bandit. (girls) Stripe, Silver, Charger, Peekaboo and Tiny. We lost either Mr Pinch or Squirtle- not sure which, they were so much alike, and (for sure) Max, Stripe, Tiny, Peekaboo and Bandit. We have 2 Cats: Tassy and our Kittem Skittles. We have an old dog Molly who is going deaf and blind. RIP: cat Dusty who lived to be 18 yr old, and Cat Jazzy of 10 yrs who died August 2012.

I can't write on paper with a pencil. Well, I can but the feel of graphite dragging across the paper drives me crazy. I avoid pencils whenever possible.

That sounds like the kind of weird quirks I have, CA. My brother had similar issues as a child, but I think he's outgrown them. I wish I had a cool extra sensory skill, but I'm pretty much "What you see is what you get." My crab-love is probably the oddest thing about me, but you guys all know that already. I do have a worm issue - I am utterly paralyzed when they are out on the sidewalk. It takes me forever to get anywhere on rainy spring days. In the dirt they don't bother me at all, but put one where I might step on it? Brrr. I've even thrown up just from thinking about it too much.I guess that's pretty weird!I also did kung fu/do karate, which you'd never know by looking at me. My karate style is kind of Gimli-esque. But I am notorious for kicking people hard and fast - no one ever expects that from someone like me!

I love it.I make sure to hopscotch around worms on rainy days but I felt that same paralysis one Spring day last year when I'd been out and returned to my street to find it literally covered with hundreds of frogs. My road is probably all of 10 houses long but I swear it took 1/2 an hour as I tried to maneuver around them.

I was a fancy rat breeder for years- blue, siamese, dumbo eared, etc... I studied the genetics and had a lot of knowledge before I started. This being said, it is very unusual to most that I have a severe reaction to mice. The ones at a petstore are cute but nothing I want to touch or take home, but a mouse on the loose in my house makes me want to move out! I was worse when pregnant with my last child but it is getting more intense as I age.Top it off with the fact I live across the road from a field and they come into houses in the fall and spring with farming going on and I am not a happy person for a few months of the year.I used to be able to live trap them and take them back outdoors but now I root for the cats when they catch one.
I have had hermit crabs for a couple of years and still have most of my originals. I joined LHC over a year ago and have learned a lot about crab care there. I have about 50 crabs (PP, Straw and E) in my 130 gallon tank that is a feature point of my living room.

CA, I'm with you on the pencil use. I can use a nice smooth mechanical pencil, but a regular graphite one? Almost never. *shudder* Hehe, Nodda, just reading your post sent shivers up my arms and spine (And not in a good way )

certain fabrics that get stuck to your hands when they are chapped gives me the willies and makes me sick to my tummy, like fleece. seeing someone with a toe nail or finger nail injury, having to fix my own boo's, watching crabs change shells bout makes me lose my lunch & the smell of deer meat in a dehydrator turning into jerky! eeewwweeewww!

Corn dog sticks are my equivalent of cotton balls. Popsicle sticks are alright for the most part, as long as they don't touch my teeth. But something about the feel of a corn dog stick... ugggggh. I have cold chills just talking about it. Gross. My mom always chews the crunchy bits left on the stick off right in my face cause it grosses me out so much.A friend of mine always threatens to built a corn dog stick box around me while I'm sleeping. Makes me feel sick to my stomach thinking about it.
