Listen to northern lights

Post by Jedediah » Tue Nov 08, 2005 9:40 pm

So I was browsing Phil Plait's awesome Bad Astronomy site http://www.badastronomy.com and I found an article on the sound the solar wind makes when it hits a plante's magnetic field or, more accurately, what the radio waves it generates sound like when converted into sound.http://www.badastronomy.com/bablog/2005 ... anet/Check out the soundflies the article links to, they are so cool. Some sound like a tropical rainforest and some are just weird and alien. You need to download the zip-files, just opening the wav-files online doesn't work, at least not for me.
