@crazycrabber, sadly he passed away on the sixth and was laid to rest on the tenth of this month he was sent home on hospice at the end of May and lived exactly one week at home, his death was caused by kidney cancer which had spread to his bones and from there to both lungs and his brain. He died around ten o'clock at night on the 6th with all of his immediate family around him his passing was sudden and tragic. We know that the kind of cancer he had was caused by the radiation he was exposed to back in the late 70's when he was in the Navy cleaning up radioactive islands like Bikini and Enewetak, he told us years ago that when he got sent to these islands that his superior officers actually told him and the other enlisted guys pulling the same duty that they could get cancer, be sterile or have kids with birth defects and then made them go out on the islands anyway. He said they had badges that would glow when they reached a certain saturation level of radiation which was their que to go back to the ship and cool down.My mom got in contact with the Disabled Veterans Office and told them what was going on and they checked their lists and said that the cancer he died from was on there but because he got a dishonorable discharge(the day before he was supposed to go home because his tour was up he got arrested and brought up on charges of spiking a superior officers drink, they court-marshaled him found him innocent of possession but still convicted him on the adulteration charge and sent him to Norfolk prison for two years, the question here is how could he have spiked a drink with nothing?, it was clearly a monkey court.)there was nothing the DAV office could do for my mom.So now We are looking at getting an attorney who sues the Government to go after the Navy for killing my dad and hopefully we can get his dishonorable discharge overturned and get him some kind of justice. Thanks for the welcome back.

My condolences. My best to you and your mom. I lost both parents in the last year, and believe me, it will get easier with time. I am glad you are back and the crab crew and I are very glad that you have been here to help. God Bless.
