@TonysHermits, male bettas should never be housed with each other or even where they can see each other which I will get into in a second. We all know bettas even females will fight each other if given the chance though males are far more aggressive and will literally only stop when one or both are dead which is why they should be housed separately at all times.Having two bettas in separate tanks close enough that they can see each other is going to result in a lot of aggressive posturing and can even lead to the fish ramming its head against the glass doing significant damage to itself in the process.Bettas need at least ten gallons of tank space because they do no do well in small betta bowls and the like that are most of often well under one gallon, you have to remember here is that these fish originated from rice fields and the streams connected to those fields so even if the water isn't deep they still have miles and miles of it to swim in so even in the largest tank we could possibly offer they still aren't getting anywhere near their actual space requirements.A breeder box may be okay for a temporary emergency housing situation but the fish needs to be moved to its own separate tank as soon as possible. To encourage the repair of damaged fins and tissue try using something like Doc Well-fish that has Aloe-Vera in it the Aloe will go a long way in helping the fish to heal. What size tank are you using to house both bettas in?
