HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Whew, there's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home.I'm just not an internet forum gal, I guess. I just got off a different pet forum where I was attempting to do some Catahoula research/ insight from owners of the breed. I read some of the posts in which Catahoula was mentioned, and nearly every thread turned flaming hot after half a dozen posts. I think my face is blistered. Why can't people just be nice, like the people at this forum? Glad I didn't join. I'm sure there are lots of nice people "there" but I am too much of a wus to risk it.Thank you all for being nice, and a Special Thanks to the Administrators for their gentle reminders along the way, so that this doesn't turn into one of "those" types of forums. I love the fact that I can recommend LHC as a family-friendly site to anyone interested in hermit crabs .

Yeah, this site and the cat forum that I belong to are always very nice and helpful... when things do get kind of heated (ie: declawing is an often debated issue over on the cat boards and most people there are VERY against it) the mods just remind everyone that they're entitled to their own opinions, but shouldn't put down what others think and then remind of the site's official stance on certain topics... have never been unsatisfied with either forum

Well I basically just lurked for a few minutes and did not sign up or post anything. I really don't have time for another forum anyway so it's just as well. I have found some pretty good info on my own and will continue to see what I can dig up here and there.

this is by far the most friendly forum i've ever joined. i don't even see spam here. good job, mods and admins! and all the members too!

I think its awsome that so many ppl from so many backgrounds and with so many different ideas and opinions can come together in once place. I also noticed on other forums that you dont always get replied to. Its like everyone just figures someone else will do it. Or they dont care, or dont know you so they dont talk to you... neways... I like it here also. This is my "home" forum also. Was my first crabby forum and got me started going in the right direction with my hermies. My crabbies thank you all!

This is the ONLY forum that I actually post in. I lurk on a lot of reality TV show forums but there is no way I would ever post to them; you get flamed for even stating your opinion on some of them! And they don't all have censors, either. Forums other than LHC -- fun to read, not so fun to join.
