HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Went to hermit crab patch to order stuff and 1st. Why do they put 1 13/16? Isn't that the same as 2 5/8? If so no wonder I can't read a ruler !! My husband said its the same and who ever listed it that way was dumb....his words. 2nd they just lost a customer.. me! They used to do money orders , guess now they don't.. Had my order all ready to go and all it asked for was credit card..I don't have credit cards..from the looks of it they don't even do personal checks! Not going to go and do pre load ones cause you pay on those. Not going to get real ones, they get you in trouble..we have excellent credit..and w no credit cards ever not going to start now.

No. 1 13/16 is just a tiny bit smaller than 2 inches. 2 5/8 is a bit more than 2 1/2.5/8 would be the same as 10/16.

Geranium is right. I think on the (1) and (2) part though was your kindle making stuff up again.You might see if there is a way to contact them and be able to send money order. The Addiction store took money orders earlier this year but haven't ordered anything lately so don't know if it changed or not.

I got a e mail from them they no longer do money orders..So yes I'm no longer a costumer..

@Laurie, I've been hearing about a lot of changes happening with the Hermitcrab Patch, they aren't selling hermitcrabs anymore due to some undisclosed issues, they've changed their payment methods and from what I've seen they seem to be having some financial issues which has caused a reduction in their inventory and amount of items they now have listed.I'm thinking Tammy and Kirk may not be in business much longer which is sad because they have been a part of this community for so long.

I'm finding it harder to find shells to get for my crabs to..No place around here where I live has them. Only very tiny ones. I need large type. You all should start up a food shell business..

I have been getting some good shells from the hobby places which also leaves me with a lot of shells (clams, I mean food dishes) that they can’t wear. But the best place has been Coles. They are cheaper and had more usable shells. For half the price of a shell on line I can get up to half a dozen, but it is a gamble. Large turbos and the like are not something I find often, but sometimes. and then of coarse the crabs are ones who decide if it is a good shell, and they seem very content with their wardrobe.

Coles?? Is this a online or a chain store like hobby lobby? Never heard of it..
