City wide clean ups was this past wk and there were lots of fish tanks out from 5, 10 to a 55 gallon I must of rode by them a dozen times and talked my self out of them every time, saying it's becoming an addiction you want every fish tank you see! Well I told Darryl about them and his stock answer is.. ehhh they have roaches! An other reason I talked myself out of them.. Well my tank had a small crack ,didn't think to much about it until I went to move my 10 gal tank w my 2 molting crabs and I heard the most sicking sound. It went clear way up to the top of the tank! The tank now has clear duct tape on it holding it together..next time follow my gut..be hoarder of tanks!!

Been there had that happen on a thirty gallon which was b-day present it made me sick to my stomach when it happened because I'd only had the tank like two weeks and went to empty it out to clean it up so I could move my crabbies into it and completely trashed one of the end panes.I had to use some silicone and just glue the pieces back together, it was still a good tank for three years then I gave it way because my group outgrew it.lol

This is driving me insane..to have things duct taped..broke...or out of place, mismatched in my living room / house. That's why I could never do those tin type lights that sit on the tank or saran wrap for a lid.. I can't wait for these crabs to get done molting so can get it out of my living room and everyone can be in the big tank again then it will be mating season.. and iso again ..(sigh )

I always have an extra tank and an extra hamster cage and an extra guinea pig cage cuz I never know when I need an extra. Just don't go crazy and have a ton of them everywhere.Would have loved to have the 55g tank though I'm still waiting for the $1 a gal tank sell or to come across a cheap one somewhere so I can put all my babies together instead of 2 separate 10g tanks.

Went to the pet store and asked if she had a tank she wasn't using didn't care if didn't hold water, she came out with one that her hamsters were in and the glass was busted worse than mine.. I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I took it when Kyle an I got in the car I told him when we got home to trash it..I can't wash it and have the duct tape hold, and have it be clean enough for my crabs.. next time I guess I need to be more specific as to what I want AND need for free...
