Cooked chicken breast vs fat globs

I gave my hermies a treat tonight.In sea salt cooked chicken breast with some of the fat globs still on it. I then sprinkled it with some fresh parsley and egg yolk.What got me is they loved the fat globs! They where picking at that nonstop! *shudder*What is in the fat that they would like more?

I don't know about the skin, but this morning I checked their food dish and the egg, part of the parsley and all the fat is gone. It seems like they hardly touched the actual meat.

I guess crabs don't have to worry about gaining weight! I never offered the fat; now I'll have to try it. It makes energy storage for them no doubt; they go crazy over pecans in my tank which to me are one of the greasiest nuts.
