Worm Castings..
Ok, bit of a.. hmm, odd question. But, the worm castings ingridents are..CalciumMagnesiumPotassiumSodiumPhoshorusSulfurNitrogenBoronCopperIronManganeseZincI'm stating this, cause thats all my crabs seem to wanna eat. I had some other stuff in there, commercial food, krill, crackers, and a few odds and ends and they will take afew bites only and thats it, pretty much ignore it. I ut in the worm casings and they gorge on the stuff like they haven't eaten in years. So, stating, is it ok to feed them nothing but this? I mean, I know there are some things it's missing, mainly like protien, and chitlin or whatever thats called.. Does anyone know how long they can eat this and still remain healthy?

No, still offer the other stuff. They may not touch as much of it, but that's okay. They have to have it available.
Worm Castings..
I have kept a dish of worm castings in the tank since they came in the mail a couple of weeks back. At first, the crabs went completely crazy for them but the enthusiasm has died down a bit though I still see them eating it. I always keep a separate food dish in the tank which I change out daily and I do see them also nibbling at the food. I think your crabs will tire a bit of the worm castings and show more interest in their other food soon. They are fickle creatures.

I think that most of the crabbies are starved of the minerals found in the worm castings (especially if they're new; who knows how long it's been since they had decent food?), so they gorge themselves on it until their mineral needs are cared for. Then they only eat it occasionally. I think it's like salt water; if the hermies haven't had it for a while, they'll drink it down, but after it's been in the tank for a week or so, interest dies off, and they only drink it occasionally.

You're gonna think me funny, but I give worm castings from my worms, both mealworms and earthworms, and sometimes superworms, to my crabs. I also give them fresh dead worms (my worms are parasite free), and the crabs will have the bowl clean in under twenty minutes when being fed in the evening. All of the stuff just simply disappears!I don't know about this company, of course you would be the one to find it. lol But I have been supplementing my crabs diet for quite awhile with this stuff, so if it is chemical free, I say go for it!In my case, I also feed my crabs fresh gecko poo. *****WARNING***** My geckos receive vet care, eat parasite free bugs, half of which I raise myself, are healthy as beans (what does that mean), and have a regualar schedule of digestive enzymes and gut bacteria. So, if you have a reptile or chelonian who doesn't meet these specs, I would not advise feeding the poo to your crabs. *****END OF WARNING*****Don't worry, I am positively nuts, no need to speculate!
