Crushed Oyster Shells, Cuttlebone and other Sources of Calcium

Natural, unbleached coral is also a good source of calcium. You can also get powdered oyster shell at the pet store, in the reptile supplies, that can be sprinkled on food or offered in its own shell.Things like (cooked) chicken bone (pork and beef would also be ok, but might be hard for the hermies to handle, since those bones are harder) would also be a good source of calcium, and are safe to offer hermies. Just be sure the chicken was baked or boiled with no seasonings. Don't offer bones from fried chicken. I seem to recall that it was suggested that the bone be cracked in half along the length to let the hermies get at the marrow. I'd think fish bones would be good also, but I think I'd avoid the teeny tiny ones.
