Has anyone tried to feed their hermies clam... I saw some by hikari in my petshop and was wondering if hermies would go for it.

What are the ingredients listed on the label? Crabs don't eliminate man-made chemicals well. Need to know what it says.

I googled it and got the ingredients list for you. Clams, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyriodoxine Hydrochloride, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate 9Stabilized Vitamin C0, Carotene, Riboflavin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Biotin, Choline Chloride, Folic Acid, Calcium Pantothenate, Inositol and Niacin. I'm not sure if any of this stuff is unsafe, I don't see any of the common dangerous preservatives, but there definitely could be something unhealthy on there; there certainly are lots of ingredients.

I'm doing a search and Choline chloride helps the body synthesize vitamin B12 and Folic Acid (a B vitamin). Pyridozine Hydrochloride is vitamin B6, but when too much is used it caused your sensory in your arms and legs to go crazy like your wearing gloves, numbness, burning, freezing. It also can cause ataxia; lose of muscle control.Niacin (vitamin B3) basically lowers bad cholesterol and can raise good. It can cause flushing.Inositol is a antioxidant. It also helps with depression and works with B6 and B12.Biotin helps counter peripheral neuropathy caused by pyridoxine hydrochloride.Calcium pantothenate (vitamin B-5) helps break down carbohydrates and fats. It can cause nausea, heartburn and diarrhea.Thiamine Mononitrate (vitamin B1) helps convert fat to energy. It can cause liver disease when used in excess.Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) is good for preventing and treating riboflavin deficiency, preventing migraines, cataracts and eye disorders.L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate is synthesized vitamin C.The only ingredients that raise question for me are Thiamine Mononitrate Pyridozine Hydrochloride and the synthesized vitamin C. Being that this is made for smaller animals, I would think it would be safe to use. There shouldn't be too much of either to cause those reactions, and those are reactions in people, I don't know what they do in animals. That's what they are and what they do. I would say it is safe to give it to them.

Thank you very much for the information. I will get some to try. They love the krill and silver sides so I wanted to try something new. I will rinse it off in dechlorinated water before feeding them.
