water help!
I don't know what kind of water conditioner or water to get for my crabs to drink. Is bottled water dechlorified? If not, what water conditioner do I need to purchase?

any water stuff you buy that use for a fish tank { fresh water fish like gold fish } you would use is fine. a few drops like 3 -4 in a gallon of tap water is fine and you would use this in your salt water to. Crabber85 I believe also uses the ones that says has aloe / stress coat in it. I have used them to and no issues with my crabs because it is hard to find the stuff with out it. not all bottled water is created equal. it must be all natural spring water, no vitamins or anything added to improve / enhance flavor.

I agree with Laurie, just look on the bottle of water conditioner and if it says it contains anything other than natural collides(sea weed extract used to thicken the water naturally) and Aloe-Vera which is completely safe for hermitcrabs then it's not safe to use.Do make sure the bottle specifically states that it removes chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals. Some of the conditioners will also remove or neutralize ammonia this is also safe to use.Not all bottled water is safe as filtered water is nothing more than tap water from the local municipal source that has been filtered to remove only the taste of chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals without having actually removed them.Spring water is safe as long as the bottle lists a reputable spring as the source this wont have to be conditioned.
