http://coloradocareco.com/home.htmlLooking at this site, they seem to have some amazing food packs for crabs. I'm very tempted to buy from them, I love the 4 ounce crab kibble (I think that's what its called), because it has just about everything the crabs need. Added with something from the addiction every night, this would be pretty easy to feed them, and the crabs probably wouldn't mind the repetition because there is a lot of stuff here. The strawberry and indo color packs look good too.

I'm not so sure. I know they've been around quite some time now, but there was some question when they first came out about the use of store bought tortilla chips in the kibble as well as the exact contents of the calcium and mineral supplements added to the kibble. It wouldn't be my first choice for the crabs' staple food.

Good point, I myself was a bit curious about the calcium and minerals. The ingredients don't list any sort of tortilla chip- so perhaps they stopped that? The hermit crab patch sells food from here, but they also sell FMR food- which I don't understand.

I have the strawberry packs. The crabs eat it on and off, meaning they have times where they like it more than others.

I never understood that either........ jarasic diet or , amd hbh whatever its called, fmr staple, t-rex treat and pellets, and hbh hermit crab food. I think those are the commercial foods that they sell that have the bad stuff in them.

Some of the HBH stuff seems to be okay, but you have to REALLY pay attention to the label. I have seen HBH flakes that don't have any questionable ingredients in them, but there's another food by HBH in almost the exact same packaging that has several bad or questionable ingredients.Even if it is safe, I wouldn't bank on the crabs being okay with repetition just because there's variety in the mix. I've actually gotten to where I just feed mine mixes with 2 or 3 ingredients at a time because after awhile they start turning their nose up at the food bowl if even just SOME of the ingredients are repeated too often. Of course, that may just be my crabs being snobs too.

Unfortunately the crabs will go without eating once the same food has been offered two consecutive times as they are preprogrammed to avoid any foods they have smelled for at least twenty four to forty eight hours to ensure that they get a varied diet in the wild if they don't the chances of building up a deficiency of certain nutrients is inevitable. That said you would be better off not mixing in the same food pack with different items every night because it's all going to smell the same so the crabs wont touch it after the first time.

I see, well in that case looks like there is going to be no "easy food" to give people to just feed them nightly when I go on vacation. Oh well, my crabs know that I spoil them now and have no real plans of stopping^^

Just fill those pill containers that have a slot for each day of the week with something different. They should be on a dry diet when you are gone. So leaves and pop corn one day, shrimp the next....ect.

Great idea Dylan, thanks. I will be gone a bit this summer I believe, as I am going to both Indiana and DC that I know of for now, both with friends so my family will be fine to watch the crabs.
