New Basic Hermit Crab Care Sheet for 2006!
Wow, it's been two and a half years since I made our current standard Basic Hermit Crab Care Sheet. And despite how "perfect" I thought the care sheet was back then, a lot has changed in those two years!Basically, when I first wrote it, I set out to be a bit more compromising on then debated subjects, like bathing and ISOs. And I wanted it to be an easy transition for new crabbers who had picked up a kritter killer with gravel at a kiosk, without socking them with huge changes. However, I can no longer recommend certain old or poor care methods with a clean conscience. Knowing what I've learned through research and experience in the last 2.5 years, I'm a bit more willing to be assertive with the care that we now think is best.Of course, two years from now, it may all change again! But as I'm hopefully proving, my care sheet will always evolve with the crab communitity. I wish to never let it become obsolete. Here are my release candidate 1 (RC1) copies of Basic Hermit Crab Care Sheet 2006. Please browse them and offer comments and suggestions. Once approved, the copies on HCA will be updated. The 4-page care sheet with a 1-page checklist:http://home.comcast.net/~JediM...icHerm ... re.docCare sheet in HTML format: http://home.comcast.net/~JediM...icHermitCrabCare.htm The care sheet formatted to print as a bi-fold brochure (prints double-sided, 2-pages per side on a single sheet in landscape mode):http://home.comcast.net/~JediM...rmitCrabBrochure.doc And the checklist formatted as a 5x7 card:http://home.comcast.net/~JediM...mitCrabChecklist.doc I made this a month ago for the HCA in response to a post asking for one for Post Purchase Stress Syndrome.
