Is this ok for them its no the pelleted version I know its bad

I looked at the ingredients and I don't see anything that's harmful to hermit crabs, but Fresh food is going to be a lot healthier than this. I recomend you feed fresh fruits and vegetables rather than this.

If it says that it contains copper sulfate, iron sulfate, ferrous sulfate, bht, bha or ethoxyquin in the ingredients list then it will need to be tossed out as all of the above mentioned offenders are used as preservatives in pet food but have their main use as pesticides and as such can not discriminate between the insects they are meant to kill and the hermitcrabs they are being fed to.There have been several reports from countries like Ireland where they have just recently started allowing the usage of commercially prepared live stock foods that contain one or more of the above mentioned pesticides and there has been a direct correlation drawn between the feeding of these ingredients to animals that have up till now only been fed completely organic foods and low birth rates, birth defects in the young and a deterioration of muscle tissue this has been especially prevalent in the cattle dogs that they use to herd their sheep and cows.There is a link to an article floating around here somewhere in the Archives that goes into much more detail the woman responsible for the article was a vet in Ireland for thirty plus years and started noticing low birth weights and a severe loss of muscle in the dogs she was seeing both the mothers and the offspring were showing these symptoms so she asked the animals owners if they'd switched from feeding table scraps to something in a bag and everyone of them had switched at some point to commercial dog food so she had some samples brought in and tested and found that some of the preservatives in the food were the culprit and even wrote a letter to the government asking them to ban the sales of commercial pet foods this was about six years ago.
