Hermitcrabs coming up from a recent molt pale or lighter in color is actually not at all uncommon and the primary most reason for this is lack of proper color inchancing pigments in the hermitcrabs diet. This can easily be addressed by simply offering the crab raw whole shrimp and organic raw carrots a few times a week.Spirulnia is a type of algae and can be found in a lot of health food stores and is an excellent pigment booster and since it comes in powder form it can easily be sprinkled on other food items on a regular basis it works wonders on ahsy or pale colored crabs it wont change their natural color but will improve it making it brighter and deeper.

The more natural foods you feed them like foods you eat and not store bought crab junk the better.check out the food list on this site if you haven't already.
