micro crabs in painted shells

I need to get some micro crabs for my tank and my local petco only has small ones in painted shellss is it okay to buy them in those shells I have natural shells so they can change into, no painted I need some advice

Buy the crabs and they'll switch into the natural.

Yes they usually will switch just remember to take the painted ones out. As with buying any crab in a painted shell there is a risk that they are stuck painted in and will eventually die.
